Employment opportunities:

ArmaGen Technologies is actively recruiting qualified individuals in the following areas:

Staff Scientist, Protein Purification-Ph.D. required

The Staff Scientist will participate in the purification of genetically engineered fusion proteins produced in eukaryotic expression systems. Following growth of host cells in a serum-free bioreactor, the fusion proteins are purified by depth filtration, protein A affinity chromatography, cation exchange chromatography (CATEX), anion exchange chromatography (ANEX), hydrophobic interaction chromatography (HIC), or hydroxyapatite chromatography (HAC). Required skills: protein purification by various chromatographic procedures, including protein A affinity chromatography, CATEX, ANEX, HIC, and/or HAC, including experience with gradient and/or step elution, detection systems, and product filtration. Additional skills of importance are gel filtration chromatography, high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC), ultra-filtration, tangential flow filtration, and viral nano-filtration.

Research Associate in Cell Culture & Biochemistry-B.S. or B.A. required

The Research Associate will participate in the tissue culture of cells, and the performance of a variety of biochemical assays/methodologies, including ELISA, DNA purification by Maxi- and Mini-Preps, bacterial transformation, spectrophotometer readings, measurements of low level radioactivity. Preferred skills: Prior history with mammalian cell culture, ELISA, sodium dodecylsulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE), use of spectrophotometer, Western blot, centrifugation, pH measurements. Must have familiarity with basic chemistry, and comprehension of molecular weights, and calculation of molarity.

Research Associate in DNA Sequencing-B.S. or B.A. required

The Research Associate will participate in the DNA sequencing of plasmid DNA using an automated DNA sequencer. Job requirements included preparation of high quality plasmid DNA using either Qiagen minipreps of agar plate bacteria colonies or Qiagen midipreps of E. coli stocks, preparation of DNA templates using Qiagen gel extraction kit following restriction endonuclease (RE) digestion of plasmid DNA, RE digestion of plasmid DNA, separation of DNA by agarose gel electrophoresis, PCR
amplification, DNA precipitation using a microplate centrifuge, handling of automated DNA sequencer software, initial assessment of DNA sequence quality. Prior history of Western blot experience is preferred.
